Now law:

The health care industry is now banned from giving “gay conversion therapy” to anyone under 18. These therapies, most of which have been discredited, attempt to change a person’s sexual orientation.

Westchester County lawmakers also approved a ban on the sale and use of sparklers. The Legislature’s Democratic majority says sparklers pose a burn risk, especially for young children. Sparkler users will face a fine up to $500, and sellers could be fined up to $1,000 and face jail time.
