Gasland Screening at the Rye Free Reading Room

Westchester for Change announces a screening of the Academy Award and Emmy Award nominated documentary, Gasland directed and conceived by filmmaker Josh Fox at the Rye Free Reading Room, 1601 Boston Post Road, Rye, NY on Tuesday, September 20 at 6:45 p.m.  The film is a compelling look at the issue of hydrofracking and the detrimental effects it has had on communities across the country.

This issue is of particular interest to Westchester State.  Assemblyman George Latimer will answer questions and offer suggestions for advocacy.  All members of the Westchester community are encouraged to attend this important event.

  1. Fracking in the Catskills may seem far away, but it is a very good example of the “out of sight, out of mind” activity that adds considerably to the conditions that make flooding in the Larchmont Mamaroneck area significantly worse.
