Suspect in Dumping of Euthanized Animals on the Hutch

HARRISON– The national media are reporting the end to the mystery of who dumped all those euthanized pets in plastic bags along the Hutch in Harrison that were discovered in early April. He is…a veterinarian who lives in New Canaan, CT and works in the Bronx. The Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals of Westchester tells the LoHud that Andrew Manesis, 66. a veterinarian at Throgs Neck Animal Hospital in the Bronx, took payments to properly dispose of 26 euthanized cats, eight dogs and a lizard. Instead, they say, he dumped them alongside the Hutchinson River Parkway over several months.

30+ Dead Animals Found off Hutch

Update: SPCA officials say the animals had been euthanized and then disposed of. It’s all over the news this morning and it’s beyond horrible: more than 30 dead dogs and cats, and a large South American lizard, were found in black plastic garbage bags on a ramp to the Hutch. They were discovered by a transportation dept. worker by the Westchester Ave. entrance ramp to the Northbound Hutchinson River Parkway in Harrison.
