Pet Project: Adopt Spunky

In the spirit of the Valentine’s season, Spunky looks like she’s wearing her heart on her chest.  Hard to believe a girl displaying that kind of love hasn’t found a family to share it with. Well-behaved around dogs, cats and the volunteers who take care of her at the New Rochelle Humane Society, Spunky used to be a house cat but when her family moved they left Spunky behind outside to fend for herself. A caring neighbor took care of Spunky and brought her into the shelter when the weather turned could. As a shelter resident for more than four months, Spunky is an official NRHS Lonely Hearts club, meaning her adoption fee is just $45. She is already spayed, vaccinated, tested negative for Felv & FIV, & microchipped.

Pet Project: Joanne

Joanne is a charming, quiet type of girl whose beauty speaks for itself. About three years old, the petite cat, currently being cared for by Larchmont Pet Rescue, is a bit shy at first, but is as warm and gentle as they come. One look into those wise green eyes and you’ll be sold on taking her home. Joanne is healthy and up-to-date on her vaccinations. She even gets along with other cats.

Adoptable Pet of the Week

Everyone was so upset when this tiny 5 pound Yorkshire Terrier arrived at our door. It was difficult to understand how a someone could neglect a dog so badly. When Willa arrived  she couldn’t open her eyes because of thick matting that had sealed both her eyes closed. Willa was quickly cleaned up, mats removed and a nice warm bath followed. Willa is a senior Yorkie that is wee pad trained and loves to settle in a warm lap.  Now all that is needed to make this a truly happy
ending is a forever home.

Adoptable Pets of the Week

Pugums (left) was given as a gift for the family’s 80 year old grandmother. While Pugums was a tiny puppy grandma was able to keep up with this cutie, but as Pugums grew so did his exercise needs. Too much for grandma, Pugums was brought to the shelter to find new home. Pugums is great with other dogs, friendly and very playful. Neutered, vaccinated and micro-chipped Pugums adoption fee is only $140.
