Loop-area swimmers with special needs won big at a Special Olympics swim meet held Saturday at White Plains High School.

Jake Steinberg goes for the gold

Bringing home gold, silver and bronze medals, the swimmers are members of the Sharks Swim Club run by the South East Consortium for Special Services, a local non-profit that oversees programs for individuals with disabilities and special needs from Larchmont, Mamaroneck, Scarsdale, Rye and several others.

“It was wonderful,” says Jacquie Cottrell, whose son, Jake Steinberg, brought home four medals from the meet. “I will be wearing them around Larchmont this week.”
