In Scarsdale Undercover, we share some of the more…unnecessary…police activity that seems to occur only in Scarsdale, New York. The “real” crimes will continue to appear in our weekly Police Blotter.

BOOKWORM

A Gorham Road resident reported an antique book stolen from his home. He then decided to look further for the book before calling it a crime. June 27

TRAVELING SALESMAN

A Penn Boulevard resident reported a man in a white sedan selling shoes from his car. The car was gone when police arrived. June 27

MYSTERIOUS MUSIC

A Richelieu Road resident reported hearing piano-like sounds from her basement. The noise was coming from a broken toy. June 27

DRIVEWAY CONFUSION

A Bradley Road resident reported a strange car parked in the driveway. It belonged to the next-door neighbor. June 28

DIAPER DUTY

A Meadow Road resident reported a minivan with strangers pulling into her driveway. Turns out the offenders were a family who had to stop to change a baby’s diaper. June 30

CADDY SHACK

Someone from the Fenway Golf Club called police, reporting that a white Dodge charger with two black men had driven into the club’s lot twice in one day and “they do not belong there. They are now just sitting in the parking lot.” Officers discovered that one of the men was a caddy at the club, and the other was giving his friend a ride to and from work. June 30

OUTDOOR SEATING

An anonymous caller reported a lot of noise coming from the patio at Chat American Grill.  Staff was bringing in the outdoor furniture. June 30

SENSITIVE EARS

An Ogden Road resident reported a loud party at a neighbor’s house. “Upon arrival, patrol noticed few adults having conversation on the back of the residence.” They agreed to keep the conversation down. July 3.
