On Friday, May 20, a 911 call was made from a home on Church Lane in Scarsdale. Police and medical assistance arrived to the home to find a 16 year-old girl suffering from alcohol poisoning. She was immediately brought to the hospital after attending a house party at the residence.
A party with over 20 teenagers was occurring in the basement of the residence when the EMS arrived. All of the members of the party were drinking alcohol and were under age.
Police spoke to the teens at the party, but they would not answer any questions or provide statements. The teens were having the party with the permission of the homeowner. The parent hosting the party would not provide any information either.
There are yet to be any charges and the case is being handled by the Westchester County District Attorney’s office.
The Scarsdale Police Department wants to reiterate: under aged drinking increases this time of year during prom season and the Department responds with “zero tolerance.”
