Retha Petrosino (1943 – 2011), Thornton Donovan School English Chair

Retha Petrosino, 68 years old, passed away on Sunday morning, July 10 after a brief illness.
She was born on April 5, 1943 to Marshall and Bernice Heigele of Moravia, New York. She Received her B.A. in English from Allegheny College and her M.A. from the American University in Washington, D.C.
A long time resident of Larchmont and recently New Rochelle, Retha has been a cherished member of the faculty for the past 30 years as English Department chair at the Thornton Donovan School in New Rochelle, NY, and the Larchmont Avenue Church, having served as a Deacon and member of Session. She is the beloved wife of 44 years to Fred Petrosino and devoted mother to sons Jeremy and Nicholas Petrosino. She is survived by husband Fred, son Jeremy and daughter-in-law Tina, of Golden, CO and sister Phyllis Bunker of Guatemala City. A memorial service and reception in her honor will be held on Saturday July 23rd at 11 A.M. at the Larchmont Avenue Church, 60 Forest Park Avenue, Larchmont, NY. Donations in her memory can be made to the Larchmont Avenue Church, Thornton Donovan School and the American Cancer Society .
