CRIME OF THE WEEK: SNOW FIGHT!

A resident of Sage Terrace in Scarsdale reported his neighbors were shoveling snow off their driveway and onto his bushes. Upon arriving at the scene, police learned that the snow dispute was just one of a string of incidents between the neighbors. Before leaving, police advised both parties to take it down a notch – and refrain from antagonizing each other. Stay tuned. Jan. 12.

VILLAGE OF LARCHMONT

A Locust Ave resident reported on 1/19 that she received a telephone call alleging that a family member was in a detention facility and required funds to resolve a matter.  After sending a total of $7200 via Western Union, she was able to contact the relative who allegedly needed the financial assistance and discovered that the call was a ruse.

VEHICLE & TRAFFIC LAW ARREST

A Bronx woman was arrested on 1/20 and charged with operating with a suspended registration after she was involved in a motor vehicle accident on Palmer.  The operator was released on the issuance of an appearance ticket.

VEHICLE & TRAFFIC LAW ARREST

A Queens man was arrested on 1/20 and charged with operating with a suspended license after he was observed operating his vehicle in Lot 3 and committing a traffic offense.  The operator was released on the issuance of an appearance ticket.

VEHICLE & TRAFFIC LAW ARREST

A New Haven, CT man was arrested on 1/20 and charged with operating with a suspended license and a suspended registration after he was observed operating his vehicle on Chatsworth Ave and committing a traffic offense.  He was also charged with False Personation for producing a fraudulent license. The vehicle was impounded and operator released on $500 bail.

LARCENY

A Trek mountain bike was stolen from a Richbell Road apartment.  Jan. 16.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

Someone stole four tires worth about $1,000 off a Honda Accord parked on Jefferson Avenue. Jan. 18.

IDENTITY THEFT

Someone used a Harrison Avenue residents’ credit card to make a $1,200 purchase over the Internet. Jan. 18.

CRIMINAL MISCHIEF

A garage on the 300 block of Prospect Avenue was tagged with graffiti.  Jan. 15.

DWI

A woman was charged with driving while intoxicated on the 600 block of Boston Post Road at 4 a.m.  Jan. 15.

LARCENY

A BlackBerry phone worth about $300 was stolen from an unlocked car parked on the 1000 block of Boston Post Road. Jan. 11.

SCARSDALE

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

A Birchall Drive resident reported seeing two coyotes in her backyard. Jan. 11.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

A Boulder Brook resident reported seeing a coyote, possibly injured, as it was limping on its leg near his home. Jan. 11.

HIT AND RUN

A Taunton Road resident reported a Mercedes Benz SUV driving away after hitting his car. Jan. 11.

PROWLER

A Boulevard resident reported sensing someone trying to break into her garage. Everything was okay. Jan. 12.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

A resident reported seeing an injured coyote near White Road and Boulevard. Police did not find the animal. Jan. 13.

ANIMAL COMPLAINT

A Clarence Road resident reported seeing two coyotes walking in opposite directions. Jan. 13.

LARCENY

A man reported work equipment being taken from his truck while parked on the 200 block of Mamaroneck Avenue. Jan. 16.

SUSPICIOUS ACTIVITY

A Clarence Road resident reported four young men in a yellow Mustang driving up and down the street for a while.  Police couldn’t find them. Jan. 16.
