Do you think New Rochelle High School needs busing after school for children who stay late for sports or clubs?

If you do, a change.org petition just may be what you’re looking for. It reads,

“Currently, New Rochelle High School only has buses at dismissal time. For children who want to do sports or other after school activities, if they are not on a City bus route, or walking distance to the school, they must get a ride home. Every other high school polled has after school buses, and Albert Leonard Middle School does as well. Especially in an era where students are encouraged to participate in after school activities, this is very difficult if both parents work and are not available to pick up the students from school.  Please help to change this!”

  1. At the recent parents night at New Rochelle High School, many teachers emphasized that students should take advantage of their after school extra help sessions. Since there is no late bus offered, attending these after school sessions are not an option for kids who can’t take a late bus home. So not only are my kids disadvantaged by limiting their after school activities, but also they are also not able to attend extra help sessions because NRHS doesn’t provide them with a late bus. I hope the Board of education will reconsider their decision not to provide after school busing for the High School.
