Patrick J. Collins, of Larchmont, died on May 31, 2011 at age 80. Born December 8, 1930 to Patrick & J. Sheila Collins (nee McKessy). Folowing in his father’s footsteps, he began caddying at Winged Foot Golf Club the age of 12. Patrick served with the US Air Force during the Korean Conflict and upon his return took a job with Schaeffer Brewery. He was hired by Winged Foot in 1957 as its golf coordinator and eventually became their Caddiemaster, a job he held until his retirement in 2005, at which time he continued with his passion for golf playing often as a member of the club, an honor granted to him, or at his 2nd home in Mexico. He was inducted into the Professional Caddies Association Hall of Fame in 2001. He will be deeply missed by the club members, the caddies and his numerous other friends. He leaves behind his 8 children, Jean Ann Shaffner (Tom), Terri Bannon (John), Patrick Collins (Renate), Karen Feeney (Mike), Robert Collins (Jackie), Martin Collins (Suzie Hale), Nancy McCarthy (Bobby) and Tricia Riccio (John); 21 grandchildren; a twin brother, Thomas Collins (Martha), and numerous nieces/nephews. Visitation will be Tuesday, June 7th from 4-9pm at COXE & GRAZIANO FUNERAL HOME 767 E.
