CRIME OF THE WEEK – SERIOUS CHANGE: A burglar stole $1,000 worth of quarters, along with another $400, from a North Avenue Laundromat. The rear door had been pried open. March 29.
ATTEMPTED BURGLARY: After hearing footsteps on her rooftop and rattling doorknobs, a Webster Avenue resident saw three teens on her porch and three more on her roof. The youths ran away, and police have no suspects. March 29.
BURGLARY: A 14-year-old Lincoln Street resident reported finding both the back door to the house and to his mother’s room open upon returning home in the afternoon. The house had been empty for the previous nine hours. Police found no signs of anything being stolen. March 29.
LARCENY: Someone stole, or tried to steal, 11 license plates from Sidney Place, Brookdale Avenue and Brookside Place residents. Police have not identified a suspect or motive. April 2.
BURGLARY: A Boulevard East resident reported someone stole a 42 inch flat screen TV worth approximately $3,000. Though a second-floor window was unlocked, there was no sign of forced entry.
