Coming Up: Family Bug Safari and Backyard Bonanza-July 12, 16

This Saturday, July 12, check out the “Family Bug Safari”  10 AM at Sheldrake Environmental Center . Explore the world of bugs, hunt in the meadow for leafhoppers and butterflies, beat the bushes for spiders and caterpillars, and turn over logs for millipedes and beetles.

Meet at the Sheldrake Environmental Center office building, 685 Weaver Street. ($5 per child, free for accompanying adults)

Also coming up: naturalist Jenny Geer from Sheldrake will host a  children’s live show, ” Backyard Bonanza” on Wednesday July 16 from 2 to 3 PM, the New Rochelle Public Library. at 1 Library Plaza, Reading Room. Recommended for children 2-6 years old.

Meet the animals who live in your backyard, including some surprise guests from Sheldrake’s pond.
