Jean Scrimgeour Kolliner was born in Bridgeport, CT to Dr. Arthur and Celia Scrimgeour on August 3rd 1918.

She graduated from Radcliffe College and obtained graduate degrees from the University of Minnesota, and Columbia University. She was a Professor and librarian at Bronx Community College from 1965 to 1985. She was the former President of the Board of Trustees of the New Rochelle Public Library; former President of the Friends of the New Rochelle Public Library; first woman elected to serve as warden and vestry member of Trinity St. Paul’s Episcopal Church; former treasurer of Trinity St. Paul’s Episcopal Church; and Co President of the League of Women Voters of New Rochelle.

She was predeceased by her husband Sim Andrew Kolliner Jr. and her son Sim Andrew Kolliner, III. She is survived by her daughter Martha K. Johnson, son in law, Peter A. Johnson, granddaughters Kristen and Erika Johnson of New Rochelle, and daughter in law Katherine Kolliner and grandsons, Joseph and Daniel Kolliner of Hudson Ohio. Memorial service will be on July 9th at 10:30 AM at Trinity St. Paul’s Episcopal Church, 311 Huguenot Street, New Rochelle. In lieu of flowers, donations to The Children’s Defense Fund, 25 E Street, N.W., Washington, DC 20001 or the Brown Bag Program at Trinity St. Paul’s Church, New Rochelle are appreciated.
