So... we hear that uber-chef Mario Batali is opening a retail bakery next door to

his popular Tarry Lodge restaurant in Port Chester. Does anyone out there know more? Otherwise we may have to follow the bread crumbs...

(PS: try the Kneaded Bread around the corner on Route 1...)

 

The folks putting together wine bar for the former Plaza Too space   in Larchmont tell us they are still planning on applying for the necessary permits.

 

And...at the new Shop Rite on Palmer Avenue in New Rochelle...the parking lot is so packed on weekends they need traffic cops. The company says the emphasis at that location is "prepared foods..."
