My neighbors were busy this past weekend.
They went ski boat shopping, looked at imported granite
countertop samples, had the windows in the new crossover SUV tinted, watched
the kids' elite soccer teams win their games, headed up the Girl Scout cookie sale
at the local grocery store, painted the trim on their house, planted some fall
bulbs, went to a baby shower and picked up some grass-fed beef at Whole Foods
on the way home to the neighborhood barbecue they were hosting.
I couldn't top that. I didn't
want to top that. I am so tired of having to top that.

..."Some cause happiness wherever they go; others whenever they go." - Oscar Wilde Many thanks for "stopping by" with the story and sharing it. |

... You know, I hear you, and I think that around here, there are just a lot of very involved, go-get-'em kind of people who have probably been that way since they were in kindergarten. We can't knock them for it. Good for them! Don't question. You make your own rules, and you don't judge theirs. There are lovely people everywhere you look, both the do-it-all type and the hang-out-and-spend-an-hour-talking-about-shrubs-with-a-neighbor type. Who cares about granite? I do, but I don't care if you don't. You don't want to hang around with anyone who cares if you don't, anyway! |
