Mamaroneck Town Police are investigating a reported armed robbery in Larchmont

 occuring on West Garden Road not far from the intersection of Weaver Street at 3:30 pm Wednesday.

The suspect, described as a black male in his early 20's, asked a resident for directions as she was getting out of her car in front of her house, and then displayed what appeared to be a handgun and demanded her wallet.

Lt. Robert Koziak says he then fled eastbound on West Garden Road in a small beige sedan, a Nissan or Toyota with tinted windows.

Friends of the victim tell theLoop the weapon may have actually been a BB gun. 

Police have released this composite of the suspected gunman.
