Shoes That Fit is a national organization helping children in need in thousands of schools across America. Hundreds of thousands of new shoes and other items have been given out.

Mamaroneck Schools social worker Meryl Schaffer and special education teacher Ellen Katz have started a chapter with the help of two local businesses – Chocolations and Rita’s Ices.

Beginning October 1st, donors can drop off new children’s sneakers (children’s size 9 – adult size 9) at Chocolations (607 East Boston Post Road, Mamaroneck) and Rita’s Ices (1262 W.Boston Post Road, Larchmont) or Mamaroneck Avenue School.  Shoes are needed for children aged 3 – 12.  The sneakers will be distributed to students at Mamaroneck Avenue School who need new shoes.  Rita’s and Chocolations are offering a 10% discount on orders to those who donate new sneakers.

For further information please contact Meryl Schaffer, merylschaffer@mamkschools.org or 914.220.3624.
