A man who recently resigned as a New Rochelle elementary school assistant principal has been charged for repeatedly sexually abusing a middle school boy.

Jose Martinez, who until March 11 worked at Jefferson Elementary School, and as Dean at the Issac E. Young Middle School before that, allegedly had repeated sexual contact with a 14-year-old boy during the spring of 2010.

The sexual encounters allegedly took place in his Isaac Young School office after school hours.  There was no evidence that force was used.

Martinez, 38, was arrested on March 24th at his Brentwood residence in Long Island on a felony charge of Criminal Sexual Act in 2nd degree.

According to a statement issued by the Superintendent of Schools, Richard Organisciak, “He (Jose Martinez) was provided with clearance to work in the school district after passing the normal State criminal fingerprinting check.  There had been no record of complaints from students or staff…”

Martinez was originally hired in 2007 as the Administrative Dean at Isaac Young Middle School, and this past September he became the Assistant Principal of Jefferson Elementary School, from which he suddenly resigned on March 11th.  According to the New Rochelle Police, there was no evidence of a connection between the allegations and his resignation.  Jefferson Elementary School declined to comment on the matter at this point.

  1. You keep saying allegedly is there any proof that this really took place or not.
editor: the case is well documented, however no one is guilty until proven so.
