The 25th Amendment: A Conversation with John Feerick @ Larchmont Public Library | | |

Labor lawyer, professor, and former dean of Fordham Law School, John Feerick is considered the preeminent scholar on the 25th Amendment, which outlines the procedures for replacing the president or vice president in the event of death, removal, resignation, or incapacitation. In light of the fact that one-fifth of our country’s presidents did not finish their terms and given the impassioned conversation surrounding our current president, the 25th Amendment is as timely and critical as ever. Feerick helped draft the Amendment in 1964 in the aftermath of President Kennedy’s assassination. Last year—on the 50th anniversary of the Amendment’s ratification—he was awarded the ABA Medal, the American Bar Association’s highest honor.
