Coming Up: West Side Story at Mamaroneck High School- Mar. 2-4

The Mamaroneck Music Department presents its all-school musical West Side Story, one of the quintessential American musicals of all-time, March 2-4 in McLain Auditorium at Mamaroneck High School (MHS).

Featuring nearly 100 MHS students in the cast, PIT orchestra and stage crew, the production will open at 6 pm on Thursday evening, March 2 and run at 7 pm both Friday, March 3 and Saturday, March 4.

Last month, the MHS cast participated in a Masterclass with Mr. Martin Charnin, who played the character BIG DEAL, in the Original Broadway production of West Side Story. Mr. Charnin told students that when he auditioned for West Side Story, Leonard Bernstein, Stephen Sondheim and Jerome Robbins were all in the room. During his workshop with the cast, Mr. Charnin remarked, “West Side Story is a very challenging musical, not performed very often by high schools. Mamaroneck is very fortunate to have the talent to take it on.”

Tickets are available online here as well as at the door if available.
