From the local chapter of Relay for Life:
On Saturday, May 20th at 3 p.m. through Sunday, May 21st at 7 a.m. at Harbor Island Park in Mamaroneck Relay for Life will be ” Dreaming of a Cure” by walking/running for a world with less cancer.
This community driven overnight fundraising event has teams camp out around a track and take turns walking or running to symbolize the fact that cancer never sleeps.
Help celebrate local cancer survivors and remember loved ones lost with this carnival themed fundraiser.
There will be music provided by School of Rock and a local DJ; fun activities and games for all ages; warm ups and fitness demonstrations by PUSH fitness and much, much more.
Relay for Life is one way of recognizing loved ones who are surviving cancer and remembering those who have lost the battle. There will be inspiring ceremonies that highlight the cancer experience for members of the Mamaroneck/Larchmont community including a Luminaria ceremony at 10 pm in which lighted paper bags line the track bearing the name of a loved one to symbolize hope and courage.
Together we can be part of the American Cancer Society’s lifesaving mission to make a difference and stop cancer in its tracks by raising critical funds for life saving research studies, crucial patient care programs, education and prevention initiatives.
