The event is rescheduled from Feb 9 to Mar 2 due to the predicted storm.
WCBS reports New Rochelle native and Super Bowl XLVII champion Ray Rice will be honored in his hometown this weekend. A rally will be held on Saturday, February 9 at 10:30 AM on the front steps of New Rochelle City Hall on North Avenue.
In addition to his 31-touchdown Senior year at New Rochelle High School, the Baltimore Ravens running back also played college football at Rutgers.
“So many residents of New Rochelle are eager to demonstrate their admiration for Ray’s accomplishments. This community rally will be an opportunity for all of us to offer our congratulations to our hometown hero,” the station tapes said Mayor Noam Bramson saying.
Fans are encouraged to wear purple for the rally.
