From the Emelin Theatre:
Emelin favorite Martin Charnin, the creator of Broadway’s Annie, returns with a great new musical revue bringing some of the best Broadway tunes back to the stage.
This cavalcade of tuneful, stirring and significant songs spans eight decades of Broadway musicals. “The Forgotten Broadway songs are both old and new,” explains Mr. Charnin. “I picked them from the treasure trove of songs written since the early 1900’s that have disappeared from the front lines, not because their value as material has decreased, but rather because of the fact that many more musicals have arrived on the scene.”
These musical numbers, written by Rogers & Hammerstein, Cole Porter, Jule Styne, Lerner & Loewe, the Gershwins, Kurt Weill, Noel Coward and many others will be performed by Broadway’s Shelly Burch (Nine, Annie), Brian Charles Rooney (The Threepenny Opera) and the David Shenton Trio. Narrator and Broadway insider, Mr. Charnin will regale the audience with anecdotes, secrets, gossip, and fun facts throughout.
