On January 24, the Larchmont Manor Park Society and Vintage 1891 will host a special event, Ebb and Flow, featuring local artists; this is to raise funds to help restore Larchmont Manor Park after damage from Hurricane Sandy.
Larchmont Manor Park, Long Island Sound and Manor Beach are the inspiration for the collection of original paintings, photographs and other artistic tributes that have generously donated for auction by local professional artists who include Wendy Popp (Simmons), Cynthia Newman, Phyllis Tarlow, Rachel Kohn, Rachel Grimm, Donna Scarpa, Charles Seton, H. David Stein, and Susan Stillman, among others. The artists have prepared works that reflect their impressions from a native’s point of view.
Special objects salvaged from the Park that will be for sale include stools made from the fallen historic trees, cuttings from of the landscape for your garden, and path stones for a new walkway.
The exhibition of artworks and artifacts will be displayed on January 24th through January 30th 12 pm-10pm Daily.
Ebb and Flow, the exhibition, will culminate with a lovely cocktail party at Vintage 1891 on January 30.
Tickets to this event will be 75.00 per person including hor d’oeuvres, and two glasses of wine.
Ticket proceeds will be donated to The Larchmont Manor Park Society.
Tickets may be purchased in advance at events@vintage 1891.com or calling 834-9643
Tickets sold at the door will be 85.00 on the evening of January 30, 2012.
Your contributions will help repair the damage from the last two storms of 2012. Both have ravaged the Larchmont shoreline and areas throughout Larchmont Manor Park; sea wall foundations have been weakened, numerous, magnificent trees have been uprooted, walkways have been lifted, and the beach pavilion has been severely compromised.
The Park faces most notable challenges and vulnerability to rising sea waters in the future. We appreciate your assistance in helping to repair and preserve the serene beauty of this most treasured landscape so that it will continue to inspire for generations to come.
