About 25 kids gathered at the Mamaroneck Town Center Saturday for the new “Kids Classic Movie Matinee Series” sponsored by the Larchmont Committee on the Arts and the Larchmont Public Library.
The movie of the day was “Annie,” the 1980s version with Albert Finney and Carol Burnett. Kids of all ages sat quietly, along with their parents, and watched this story of an orphan who teaches a wealthy businessman to love again. All the parents were equally excited about the film. Many hadn’t seen it since they were a child, and many admitted to knowing all the words to the film’s memorable songs.
This was the first in this new series. If your kids haven’t experienced Kermit the Frog and Miss Piggy, now’s your chance. “The Muppet Movie” will be shown at 2:30pm on April 16th at the Village Center. Popcorn will be served.
