Cheryl Ann Lennon of Larchmont, formerly of Yorktown Heights, passed away Tuesday, July 19, 2011 after a courageous battle against cancer. She was 52. She was surrounded by her family who loved her dearly and will miss her greatly. Cheryl was born in Dobbs Ferry, NY on September 12, 1958 to Robert and Katherine Lennon of Yorktown Heights. Her capacity to love and live life, even through many difficult obstacles was truly inspiring. She will be missed for many things, she was the person in our family that kept us all young. She sang Happy Birthday the loudest, Said grace at meals the most meaningfully, and waited up for Santa the latest.

Cheryl is survived by her parents, Robert and Katherine of Yorktown Heights, her brother, Robert (Maureen) of Yorktown Heights, and her sister, Diane (William) of Pleasantville. She was predeceased by her brother, Michael in 1987, and her grandmothers, Rose Lennon and Dorothy Lavachielli. She is also survived by her 5 nephews and nieces, Nicholas Lennon, Lia Quijada, Matthew Lennon, Dylan Quijada and Isabella Lennon. Cheryl will also be missed by her Aunt, June Rossi of Hastings-on-Hudson, her Aunt Frances Rodriguez of Pomona and many cousins.

The family asks that in lieu of flowers that donations in Cheryl’s name be made to Jewish Community Services, Palmer Ave. residence recreation fund, 1271 Palmer Ave. Larchmont, NY 10538. The Lennon family would like to thank Dr. Tinger and all the nurses at Northern Westchester Hospitals Cancer and Wellness Center for their tireless efforts to help Cheryl and our family through this time, Jansen Hospice of Bronxville, and also the staff of Palmer house, they are truly amazing people who we are blessed to have in our lives.

Services will be held at Clark Funeral Home in Yorktown Heights on Wednesday 2 to 4 and 7 to 9. Mass of Christian burial will be held at 10 am Thursday at the new St. Patrick’s Church in Yorktown Heights, with interment at Rose Hill Memorial Park in Putnam Valley.
