Thrifty Thursday: Harbor House Breakfast

LARCHMONT– from Michael of Murphy Brothers Contracting:
Best bargain? Check out the 6-11am Breakfast special at the Harbour House in Larchmont. It’s not just the food but the understated ambiance! And a recent renovation makes it a sweeter spot that it used to be. Got a bargain secret?

Thrifty Thursday: Green Eileen (Fisher), Yonkers

It’s genius. It’s fashionable. And it’s cheap. Green Eileen in Yonkers is an Eileen Fisher store -that opened in March- stocked with professionally cleaned, gently worn Eileen Fisher clothing at, in many cases, below half the original retail prices. Quietly gaining a following, a bit out of place in a Central Ave.

Thrifty Thursday: The Bread Factory

You know the Bread Factory in new Rochelle (soon to be renamed Sonny Orza’s Bread Factory) by the sign you can see from the the highway, southbound on I-95 (above). But have you been? Their amazing, low priced offerings have been feeding generations of locals handmade pastries, bread, danishes ($1 each!), croissants and muffins since 1908 (before moving from Yonkers 12 years ago.)

One of their biggest customers was the old Yankee Stadium. When the new Stadium opened, Derek Jeter asked Stadium management to bring back the treats from New Rochelle.

Thrifty Thursday Tip: After 4:30, everything is half price.
