Future home of Larchmont Pet Rescue

As you know, we are big supporters of pet rescue, posting adoptable pets from the New Rochelle Humane Society and Larchmont Pet Rescue on a regular basis.

After 32 years, Pet Rescue has acquired a facility, located in Harrison and the site of the former Westchester Shore Humane Society.

The organization will remain Pet Rescue, but organizers say this will help more animals in the long run. “We will continue to rely on our amazing volunteers and foster homes, and to operate our clinic…and outreach services and, of course, rescue as many dogs and cats as we can,” according to volunteer Linda Staszak.

“The facility has been transferred to us, but we have also inherited some debt and several buildings in desperate need of repair – decaying structures, non-functioning boiler, broken windows, mold, etc. We are fully committed to the challenges of renovating the facility, which will take several years and lots of fundraising.”

Pet Rescue’s 11th Annual Gala Fundraiser will be held on Friday, February 28, 2014 from 6:30-10:00 pm at the VIP Club in New Rochelle. This year’s “A Home of Our Own”  theme will be celebrating the long awaited acquisition of a facility for the organization.
