Pet Project: Norman

Can you imagine? This sweet-natured guy, Norman, was so mistreated by his previous owners that they didn’t even bother to bring him into an animal shelter when they gave him up; He was left in a dirty carrier on the steps of a local facility.
Even after being transferred to the New Rochelle Humane Society, Norman showed signs that he was “quite neglected.” His wiry coat was dirty; Hair loss on his back meant that, at some point, he probably suffered from fleas.
But Norman is ringing in 2012 with a new lease on life, thanks to a grooming, vaccinations and the TLC every dog deserves. He is friendly, playful — and downright adorable. Now all he needs is a home of his own where he can enjoy life the way he is meant to.
Norman’s $140 adoption fee covers the costs of his heartworm test, micro-chip, collar, ID tags, starter bag of food and training classes.
The New Rochelle Humane Society, located at 70 Portman Road in New Rochelle, is open seven days a week. For more information call 914.632.2925 or visit its website.
