A proposed law in Mamaroneck Village that would require property owners in the Business District to get approval for a replacement building before demolishing the old one, will be discussed Monday June 23 by the Board of Trustees.
If passed, this law would require Bow Tie, the owners of the embattled Mamaroneck Playhouse to apply and receive approval for their replacement project prior to being able to demolish the Playhouse.
“Such approvals can take upwards of 18 months,” says Trustee Andres Bermudez. “This prevents the Playhouse from becoming a hole in the ground for two years, and may provide the time for a potential angel investor to make an offer the owners would be willing to accept.”
The Board of Trustees meets Monday, June 23 at 7:30PM in the Village Courthouse (169 Mt. Pleasant Ave)
