President: Is He Really Visiting Town of Mamaroneck?

While we and others have reported the President of the United States will be visiting a home in New Rochelle’s Premium Point Friday, one resident that contacted us says the media may be doing the Town of Mamaroneck a disservice. The house Obama will visit, says the source is in the Town of Mamaroneck. We have been unable to officially confirm this, as a Police Spokesperson is away and the Town Administrator said he had no knowledge of exactly which house the President was visiting.
Seven of the 31 homes in the exclusive gated enclave of Premium Point are actually in the Town. Those 7 households pay taxes to the Town, receive services from the Town and can send their children to Mamaroneck Schools.
Their mail, however, is addressed the the box at the front gate of Premium Point, which is in New Rochelle.
LoHud reports the first event will be a barbecue hosted by investment banker Robert Wolf in Purchase to raise funds for the the Democratic National Committee. The second event will be held at Premium Point, and will be more of a round-table event.
Businesses in the area of Premium Point were notified by the Secret Service that roads around the entrance to the gated community on Route 1 will be closed off from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Friday.
There has been speculation the Obamas are considering the area as a place to call home after they leave the White House.
