New Rochelle–Just a reminder that all the pain in the a** ice is also very dangerous. New Rochelle police say a Monroe College student was pulled from from the icy waters of the city marina early Friday.
“The 20-year-old student was sitting on the sea wall listening to music in the Hudson Park Road marina at 2:48 a.m. after leaving a nearby party when he tried to get up and slipped on ice into the water,” New Rochelle police Sgt. Robert Wenzler said.
According to LoHud, officers steadied themselves against the wall so that they did not slip into the water also and pulled him to safety.
“He showed symptoms of suffering from hypothermia,” Wenzler said.
The student, whose name was not released, was rushed by ambulance to Montefiore Medical Center in New Rochelle.
