Though Mamaroneck Avenue School had a one hour delay scheduled Thursday due to flooding, the Village is not anticipating major disruption after steady rains, according to Village Manager Richard Slingerland.

“It will be close,” he said.

“Weather reports have been conflicting.  …As of right now, Accuweather is predicting 2.4” of rainfall for our area, with another ¾” to 1” of rain by early morning hours.  National Weather Service and CBS Radio’s Weather Center is predicting approximately 3.5” to 4” of rain.”

Current conditions around Westchester include flooding and closure of the Bronx River Parkway between Walworth and Main Street in White Plains, and flooding of the Hutchinson River Parkway between the Cross County Parkway down to Lincoln Avenue between Mount Vernon and Pelham.  There has been a major mudslide along the Metro North Railroad tracks in Yonkers, which will affect the morning commute for Metro North Harlem Line commuters.
