The Larchmont Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force (aka the Food Pantry) needs volunteers of all ages to support its upcoming food drive, taking place on November 23 and 24 at three local food markets.
From 9-4:30 each day, volunteers are needed to collect, sort and load food. Shifts are 90 minutes long. From 4:30-6:30pm, volunteers load food that has been collected onto trucks. Food drive locations are Stop & Shop on Boston Post Road in Larchmont, A& P on Mamaroneck Avenue in Mamaroneck, and ShopRite on Palmer Avenue in New Rochelle.
Volunteers are also needed on Monday, November 25th from 9am-noon at the CAP Center, 134 Center Avenue, Mamaroneck, to unload the trucks and sort the collected food. Volunteers can pitch in for as little as an hour or stay until all the work is done.
To volunteer, please email the volunteer coordinator at volunteer@LMFoodPantry.org.
The Larchmont Mamaroneck Hunger Task Force is an all-volunteer coalition of community organizations, houses of worship and concerned citizens dedicated to assisting families living in Larchmont and Mamaroneck who need food. It runs a food pantry that distributes a nutritional bag of groceries providing four days of meals, twice a month.
