There will soon be two Film Clubs for movie buffs and students of the cinema along the Sound Shore.

The Emelin is announcing a new Film Club beginning May 21, curated by Rooftop Films, which theatre management calls “one of the most dynamic and diverse film institutions in the world.”

Rooftop Film’s Program Director Dan Nuxoll will host each evening and will select pre-release films and facilitate talk backs with guests, similar to the Emelin’s format.

at the same time,  The Picture House in Pelham announced it is bringing in Marshall Fine, the critic that has led the Emelin’s Film Club for many years. The Picture House Film Club with Marshall Fine, who has also been named The Picture House critic-in-residence, is effective June 1.

The Picture House Film Club will offer six-film screenings in each of three series—fall, winter, and spring —with the first screening scheduled for October 1.
