Cool Finds: Recologie Redux

I went to the new Recologie bistro (“Vistro”) in New Rochelle during restaurant week, when restaurants offer 3 courses for $26. But here, a great meal* barely costs that to begin with. Not only that, but after dinner we could browse through the art gallery, and clothing, accessories and jewelry you may remember from Recologie when it was in Larchmont, and then perhaps join in on an artist demonstration, a class or lecture. There’s even a weekly songwriting circle.
For Recologie has reinvented itself into a one stop community for art and the vegan/vegetarian lifestyle, one that even non-vegans will love. It is now in the space formerly occupied by Alvin and Friends restaurant, which moved.
“It’s hard to establish something that doesn’t exist yet and make it appealing,” says Maria Cisneros, “But I think I think it’s going great.”
Partner Judith Weber, an established artist in New Rochelle and former Chair of the New Rochelle Council on the Arts says she, too, is excited to be creating a gathering place for good food, art and shopping.
“It’s all about collaborations,” she says. “And we think the time is right.”
