There are so many ways to brand one’s self or one’s business. The Best of Westchester gathering last week at Glen Island showed us the yin and the yang:
If social networking is your thing, a young woman in Larchmont might teach us a thing or two. @AlexOppRD, aka Alex Oppenheimer, MHS ’05, is a registered dietician who won a contest inside the Social Media tent to see who could “tweet the most” about the event.
“It’s a great way to engage people in conversations, people you may not usually come into contact with,” said Alex, shortly after being awarded a prize from @TTTGiftBaskets aka Tasteful Treats.
We also saw Espana, Cienega and EuroLaser, and Emma’s Ale House, among other locals, behind their tables (average $600–even for Best of Westchester winners) and working the crowd the old fashioned way– with food, drink and freebies.
Others, like these women from Cherylyn Salon in Armonk, tried other ways to get attention.
