PORT CHESTER– Trendy Bar Taco in Port Chester was apparently being ripped off from the inside.
The Westchester County DA announced today a former Assistant Manager at the eatery, Evan Loring, 28, is accused of stealing more than $50,000. The complaint says, “Beginning in October of 2011 and continuing until April of 2012, the defendant accessed the restaurant’s computerized sale system and began removing items from customer’s orders, thereby changing the cash receipt amount.”
The defendant, says the DA’s office, pocketed approximately $80,000 in a five month period and falsified business records to try and hide his theft. he has a court date in October and faces up to 15 years in prison.
