The developer of the proposed “affordable” housing” units at 2101-2105 Palmer Avenue in Larchmont says he will move forward after the Planning Board extended its approval of the project Monday night.
The move gives developer Bill Balter until September to start construction, though he tells theLoop he expects to start construction in March 2012.
“It’s exciting.” Balter said. “We’re looking forward to starting.”
The project, Pinebrook Condominimums, is to be built near the railroad tracks across from Pine Brook Drive. The Board’s original approval ran out last fall.
Most of the 51 units will satisfy a court order to build more affordable housing in affluent areas of the County. Westchester must develop this type of housing in predominantly white communities under the terms of a settlement with the federal government.
