MAMARONECK–At the Kemper Memorial in Mamaroneck Wednesday, many celebrated the 66th Anniversary of the monument, which honors WWII soldier Richard Kemper, who attended Mamaroneck High School.
Speakers urged those attending to remember what Memorial Day is truly about, the remembrance of those who lost their lives in order to protect our freedoms.
Richard Cantor of the Kemper Family and American Legion Post 90 gave the introductions,
Ben Morris and Kiku Ono of Hommocks Middle School spoke of personal experience on their school trip to Washington, and High School students placed the Grave Marker Flags.
